Silence of ice

Toddlerhood

When the world is frozen in the perpetual shadow of winter, it's amazing how silent things become. In a rainforest laden with every shade of green, it's easy to imagine how such a place would be a constant cacophony of sounds — drip, drip, dripping of water as it plops off of leaves, cascades down rivulets as it gains speed, bulk and momentum until it's flowing into a small stream along the trail.
I find it's not until all this is frozen into various states of crystaline sculptures, that the silence becomes so prevalent, I feel I'm walking alone no longer.
In a lazy weekend filled with good food, decent weather and lots of lazing around, our Thanksgiving weekend could be classified as "uneventful," but looking back it seems we wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Today on my run ...

For the last few months I've been documenting my runs each day with a fitting photograph to capture the essence of the outing.

Finally, after many, many, many images, I've pieced a few together into a collage. Juneau is truly a beautiful, versatile and amazing place to run.

Just a few ... more to come!

Life has happened ... again. Too much work, lots of playing and a really lame stint of the stomach flu has forced a three-month hiatus on the blog. Ah well.

But I'm back. And my plan is to post more, especially with the holidays just around the corner...

But prior to the puking and whatnot, here was Elias on Halloween. He was sporting the bottom half of his dragon outfit on the deck ... What is it about pants with built in paws?
