Typically February in Juneau is cold, dark (though less so than December and January) and filled with ample precipitation in the form of that white fluffy stuff David most often refers to as "Pow."
Not this year.
This month has been punctuated by scenic mornings with lazy clouds that roll out of town as if using the Gastineau Channel as a guide. They lift to blue skies and leave behind a spectacular landscape that shimmers with frost.
But alas, Elias and I have been sick and haven't been out in the elements much. One lazy Monday morning, however, I took him to school and went for a hike.
Despite the sleepy clouds, I'm glad I did.
